Clearwater / Lake Tarpon KOA Holiday

After hours number does not work. If you need anything after the office closes—it’s impossible to get a hold of anyone/issue addressed. Had a concern with late check-in and parking issue in and no one was available to answer. When informed the property of this, they said that number is not connected. Then why give it to customers as if it works? As a female traveling knowing there’s someone I can contact after hours if the need arises is important in making a decision in renting a property. .nnFurthermore, they write the door code on an envelope and stick it in an unlocked box for you if you check-in late. When I arrived, I opened the box to retrieve my envelope and it was torn open. I expressed concern as the cabin door code was listed there and it’s a potential safety concern if someone else had the code. The campsite was off a busy road and all. They dismissed my safety concerns saying night security rips it open to see where you’re staying... perhaps there’s a better system?!?

It was nice. No trails. It not Clearwater. It's actually Palm Harbor. The is a strip club across the street. If you call that a positive? It's like a campground in the middle of a civic area.

Truly wonderful time spent with family and friends. Well maintained, nice staff and comedy joint just a five to ten minute walk. Flapjacks just the next plaza over was also very nice.

Had the best experience at this KOA. The staff were super friendly and helpful. All the amenities were wonderful and the campground is well kept. It is family, kid and pet friendly. It is an absolutely beautiful campground and convenient to a lot of local restaurants, stores and beaches. Thank you for making our first trip to clearwater memorable.

Things to know:n-You have to rent a fire ring for $5 per day. We understand this allows for nice upkeep of the grounds but when we went to reserve one there were none available.n-There are SEVERAL campers parked for extended stays we assume. And with that, campers just sit. With no one there. And we were expected to move our camper with one day left of our stay. So if campers are just sitting with no one there, why should we have to wait for a fire ring or even move our camper?n-Clean area and nice showers.n-Friendly neighborhood (since it seems more like a community rather than a campground).n-You cannot set off any boom-booms. So if you buy the very small package of sparklers and such, it’s a no go.
