Chincoteague Island KOA Resort

Very pleasant stay at this resort. Welcoming to me and my dog, unlike the rest of Chincoteague which really is not so dog-friendly. Campsites were a little too close together for me, but I really liked our neighbors. Convenient location. Lots for families with kids, and yet, pre-season, those of us senior folks were not overwhelmed by noisy little ones.

Even though it is still early in the season this KOA was bustling! It was well managed and well cared for. The bathrooms and laundry rooms were good, but guests do not always clean up after themselves as they should! We had a blast!

This campground was very well taken care of and is in a good location. Beautiful vuews of scenery and lighthouse right from campground.. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in our travel trailer in a really nice pull through space, but the brand new cabins they had also looked great.

They have several choices of campsites available. Tent, RV, tiny house and glamping tents with full size beds, a dresser, couch and lamps. The laundry and shower facilities are clean. There is a giant air pillow for the kids to play on, a playground, kayaks for rent, and a water park located at the entrance. It's also a nice place for stargazing when the sky is clear. We were able to see the pink moon.

We would not repeat renting an RV. The main issues were cleanliness and upkeep of the RV. Our screen door was torn enough for our small dog to slip through, a set of blinds was missing from the kitchen window, the microwave didn't work, and the dishes were dirty and we had to wash them all before using. These issues overshadowed what would have otherwise been a very pleasant stay. Staff were excellent and the location was beautiful. Just too bad the RV felt so shabby.
