Makesafe Roofing called me Mon 13 July 2020 to let me know that the scaffolding would be setup and that the roofing supplies would be delivered on Wed, and that work would commence on Thu and would be completed on Fri, weather permitting. Everything was delivered on Wed, but nobody showed up to start work Thu morning, even though the weather had been perfect all week. Nobody called me either. After lunch, I called Clint the project manager to see what was going on. He proceeded to tell me that because of poor weather the previous 2 weeks, jobs are being pushed out and that they wouldn’t be starting work until the following Mon or Tue. I asked him why they did not schedule the delivery for a later date in that case, to which he responded that they can’t predict the weather and that if they delayed their deliveries, they’d never get any work done. This made no sense to me, because if they were already aware of the fact that the poor weather was pushing out jobs prior to calling me on the Mon about the delivery, then they could have easily arranged for a later delivery. What they are doing here is using the end clients property as temporary storage with total disregard for the inconvenience it’s causing and the fact that it’s going to destroy the lawn and block the driveway. When the following Mon arrived, they didn’t show up for work and nobody called me. I had to contact Clint again and ask him when they would commence work, he said “works will not be commencing today due to rescheduling from the past 2 weeks of poor weather”. After speaking with ABC Group, the mob my insurance company hired to fix my roof who then in turn hired MR to fix my roof, I was told they’d be starting on Wed. They did show up on Wed, but not until late arvo, and all they were literally doing was moving some of the insulation rolls from on top of the metal sheets on our lawn onto our roof. They were surprised when I caught them doing it. 5 minutes later, they had left and the insulation rolls were back on top of the metal sheets on our lawn. In other words, they felt the need to “make an appearance” of some sort on Wed to either “please us” or “please ABC Group”, I don’t really know, either way, it was very dodgy behaviour. They showed up early Thu morning to commence work on the roof and finished on Fri afternoon. I then went into my roof as I’d heard them dropping things all over the ceiling, and no doubt, it was covered in all sorts of rubbish. I called MR about this, and I wasn’t surprised at all when David told me that this was the first time anyone had called them about such an issue, meaning, they’re simply used to leaving their mess on peoples ceilings with no intention of cleaning it up (because it’s hidden from your sight, so why should they bother right).nn2 weeks later, no one had bothered to show up and clean the mess off our ceiling. Additionally, there was a gap in the insulation all the way down the ridgeline, most likely because this is the way management says for it to be done as a standard. We had to get ABC Group to inspect the roof themselves before we were able to get MR back out here to fix the insulation, secure it in place, and clean up their mess. ABC Group also discovered that one of the ridge cappings on the roof was the wrong size, which meant a lot of the screws had missed the batten and it was not secured in place properly. This had to be fixed too.nnMR are used to walking all over the end client in order to make life easier for themselves. They’ll leave their deliveries on your property and won’t show up to start work until it suits them, and if you confront them about it, they have a bunch of excuses waiting for you because this is how they do things all the time. According to them, this is how the building industry operates (yes, they actually said that to me). To be clear, the roofers themselves were nice guys, it’s the management that needs replacing.

Absolutely disgraceful from start to finish.nNow having another roofing company come and fix there rubbish work.nNothing safe about the corner cutting unqualified hungover workers.nWorking at 6.6 m with no safety harnesses or edge protection/ scaffolding.nRubbish left every where to cut yourself open on.nDo not even think of using this company.
