PJTSAU is the only farm university of Telangana state formed as per govt. GO Ms no 7. University was established on 3 September 2014. University has been named in the honor of Professor Jayashankar who was an ardent political ideologue of TS. University has nine constituent colleges in the field of agriculture, engineering and home science along with Polytechnics, ARS, RARS, DAATTC and KVKs. University caters to the needs of farming community and poised to become the seed bowl of the country. PJTSAU is ranked 10th amongst the agricultural institutions in the country by ICAR and 79th in university category by ministry of HRD.
