The University College of Science was established in 1918 initially with four Departments. Presently the College has 14 regular departments and 4 self-financing courses. 2000 students are pursuing their PG courses in different subjects. The students for the M.Sc. course are admitted through the Entrance Test conducted by the Osmania University.nnThe University College of Science is offering Ph.D. programme in 16 subjects. Students are admitted into the Ph.D. programme based on the performance in the Entrance Test and interview. The students are accommodated in the Maneru, Krishnaveni (B) and New PG Hostels. The girl students are accommodated in the Ladies Hostel. The Hostels are equipped with required infrastructure facilities to cater to the needs of students.
