I love this state park for the history, scenery and the solitude! We were there on a beautiful sunny day when it wasn't too hot...perfection! Every time I take the drive from I-15 to I-70 with the short turn off to Fremont Indian State Park it has been totally worth it! An hour or two is plenty of time to see the visitors center, hike the trails (mostly paved and easy) and check out the pit house. It's a great stop for families or anyone interested in history and lovely scenery!

I didn't expected this scale of cultural landscape there! There are tons of petrographic sites around the museum. If you want to see them as much as possible, make sure drop by the museum and get a trail map. Most trails are easy hikes for children but some roadsides are not really safe for children. Overall, amazing place for those who interested in the Fremont culture. You would find some more roadside spots that are not on the map!

Amazing place to explore! The inside museum is great, but my favorite part was climbing down inside the pit house just across from the parking lot. The museum docent was very helpful and told us all about the surrounding trails, marking our map so we'd find our way. I'd love to come back here and spend several days, instead of just a few hours, in the future.

We stayed at Sam Stowe Campground and really liked it. It's tucked in a beautiful canyon just for the Campground, which is not over crowded like many campgrounds. We loved all the nearby hiking trails, friendly staff, and the museum nearby that taught us about the Fremont Indians who lived there long long ago. We have a 3 yr old and 6 yr old and it was great for them too. They rode their bikes down the hill in the campground and had a great time even without a playground there.

I thought this was great! We had the trails to ourselves. No trash. Completely amazing views. Be sure to stop at the visitor center first and get the map. We missed some things because we didn't do that first. Special place in between stops for us. A really welcome rest from driving.
