Jayathi is a small village at a distance of 35 kms from Vijayanagaram District Head Quarters. On the Eastern side of the village, there are the temples dedicated to Siva, Parvathi and Vigneswara. Parvathi and Vigeneswara temples are protected monuments of A.P. Govt. The temple elevational compositions are dominated by large riches in the major Bhadra – Projections. These temples are built in Parssian style. These temples are decorated by large bhadras and smaller bhadras on the corner facets. Ganesha, Kartikeya and Mahishasura Mardhani are housed in large bhadras and Lakulisa, Ardhanareeswara and Vigneswara in the smaller badras. The lintel of the western doorway is adorned with the panels of Navagrahas and Gajalakshmi. Ganga and Yamuna are noticed on the jambs. These are constructed in Orrissian style of architecture. The temple was built – under two influence of the Eastern – Gangas by their sub-ordinate chiefs, the Eastern Kadambas of Jayantapura. These temples were built during the lost quarter of 10th century A.D by the Eastern Kadambas of Jayantapura.
