We stayed here for a week in our camper the week before Memorial Day weekend. Everyone was really friendly and staff always waved or said hello. The campground is large and sites all level and packed gravel. The buildings were all clean and very nice. The only downsides are the sites are very close to one another. I guess it might not be all that big of a deal if everyone is out sightseeing all day and in bed early. We had a fire one night and were almost whispering out of concern we'd be too loud. The other downside is it's right along a 4 lane highway. Traffic was loud and noticeable inside our camper. While having our fire we quickly realized we were definitely quieter than the traffic and weren't so worried about bothering neighbors. We would definitely stay here again as it's a great location to see and do all the touristy stuff.

The grounds and bathroom were extremely clean. The staff was kind enough to put us right next to the bathrooms and playground which was perfect for our kids. Staff was super friendly and very accommodating. We will definitely come back again!

Heartland is among the nicest RV parks we have visited. The park is clean and well laid out and the staff is friendly, helpful and well organized. Amenities are abundant and well-maintained. Some road noise from Hiway 79 traffic, but otherwise the park was very quiet and peaceful. The location is a perfect launching point for tourism in Custer State Park, Black Hills Natl Forest, and all points of interest near Rapid City. We would like to visit again and strongly recommend this park.

Spent 9 days there in 2021. Clean, quiet (some road noise), friendly staff. Sites are not roomy but adequate. Breakfast served on weekend. Perfect location for monuments, cave, hot springs, scenic drives. Bit of a drive to Deadwood, Badlands, and Wall. 20 min to Rapid City attractions and shopping.nVery reasonable pricing.

If you are visiting the Black Hills, this is the only place to stay. The grounds are immaculate and everyone on the staff goes out of their way to accommodate you. Heartland has more of the feel of a friendly village than an rv park. Will always come back here when we're in the area.
