The Hermitage includes guest houses and a few departments of Kumaun University, and its Human Resource Development Centre. I had the chance to spend a month in the guest house. It has decent facilities includng geysers for warm water. However, room heaters need to be separately ordered and are chargeable. A washerman visits every two days to ease the guests' lives, as do the sweepers. But remember, the food quality at the mess may vary according to your importance to the university!ud83dude09To me the best thing about the place is the divinely gorgeous peaks visible like towers on all sides. The city of Nainital is spread out beneath, and if you look after dark, it is as if the stars have come down.
