Very Good cultural and heritage site for interested ones. You should definitely visit once in a life here . It's said that it's was world's first University in India and offered teaching in various fields and entrance test was being conducted for the same. Once it's was burnt it kept burning for 3 months , such was the hugeness of this University.

A very nice tourist destination in bihar, and also a historical place which is world heritage site ,it is one of the 3 world heritage sites of bihar. At one point of time this university was world's second largest university . This is still very big . it is spread in a radius of 1 KM and still excavation is going on to find out more. It is being renovated currently so most places are closed for public visit ,when you visit make sure that no place is closed for public visit.
