Trikkannad Tryambakeshwara Temple

The most visited temple.in Kasaragod for Bali tharpana. The temple is very close to the sea shore and has a good ambience. The temple is large, has a good amount of seating for devotees to rest.nnParking is available in one of the side of the temple. The staffs are cooperative and it is usually crowded.

On the shores of Arabian Sea and about a kilometre from Bekal, situates the Trikkanad Sree Thrayambakeshwara Temple. Devoted to Lord Shiva, this west facing temple is famous for the annual Arattu festival.nnThe festival falls on the Malayalam month of Kumbham (February -March) begins with the Kodiyettam (ceremonial flag hoisting). This seven-day festival ends on arattu  (holy bath) are noted for the rituals of Ashtami Vilakku (held on the third day) and the Pallivetta (royal hunt).nnThe festival celebrations include performances of Thidambu Nritham, a ritual art form in the temples of North Kerala.nnOn the new moon days, thousands of devotees flock to Trikkanad Shiva temple for pithrutharppanam (homage to the forefathers).nnLegend says that the idol of the temple was consecrated by the great sage Kanva.nnBekal fort and kottikulam are the nearest railway stations to this temple. And can be reached through the state highway from KASARAGOD and Kanhangad towns.

A spiritual spot of Shiva. Wonderful place and view. Must visit once. Also, the place is famous for rituals for the passed souls.
