Marian College Kuttikkanam (Autonomous)

The location is beautiful with the cool climate and floating mist. The insides of the college is beautiful too, with all the trees, plants and the lovely pond in the middle. The area is well maintained and neatly kept. The staff is very friendly. There are many places to visit nereby.

Honestly, joining MCA here was a humongous mistake I ever made. Let me be very clear, it’s about the department I belonged to – not about the whole college. You’ll be spending a hell lot of money and time here, but at the end of your programme, you won’t be feeling like you’re a post graduate. Everything you gonna do here will be just for name sake - from the assignments to the semester end projects. I still remember my first couple of college days, where I given a task to review the college on some platforms say Google, Facebook, CollegeDunia, MouthShut and Career360. Among 85% of positive reviews you see here were done in the same manner as per the instructions from the college by the students itself. I still don’t understand why they force students to do so. The results you get from search engines are specifically manipulated by digital marketing. Believe me or not, I’ve a clear clue for that. Go to the official college website's homepage and direct your mouse pointer to the current tab. You will wonder seeing thousands of search phrases which’d pop out of the box (not even thousand, once I copied the meta tags from the website to my text editor and my machine was running out of memory. Playing GTA V at the highest performance was far smooth than that ud83dude02) . We still laugh out reading it. Of course, students expect direct access to cutting edge technologies and engineering level experiences. But somehow the offerings of the department wasn't up to expectations. There is a computer lab which can board 100+ students at a time with internet connectivity - nothing much. Now about placements, ultimately everybody dream about having an offer letter at the end. But as of today, no companies have been visited the campus to hire people from our batch. The placement data you see on the website is absolutely outdated. The absurd part of this 2 years is that, you’ll be having a whole new bunch of rules and regulations at the end of each and everyday. I’m about to have my graduation ceremony very soon. And I’ve to pay additional to take part of it. A graduation day is the fulfillment of a beautiful dream, but for me it’s like a scaring nightmare. Personally I don’t entertain people joining here. I suggest those who are looking for an option here to meet somebody graduated recently. Please don’t believe in those colorful brochures and campaigns you see. They all are brilliantly hooked up. But still I could find a binary number of people who are really passionate about proper education and teaching here, apart from that my last two years were of complete disappointment. If you can push yourself a harder fall than that you believe you can and start experimenting things right from the start, you win. Try maintaining a growing momentum yourself. It's not a blame, this is what personally I felt. People who read this may end up frustrated - even my professors and friends, still I want to let everyone know - what I was expecting from Marian and what I actually made.
