Nice park! There have two campground areas, and campground 2 is definitely better. Not sure why they didn't add sewer hookups when they renovated, which would've been really nice. Especially since the showers at the bathhouse only emit a mist. The campground is clean and quiet. Will camp here again.

Went to Kayak in Lake Lindsey. Unfortunately there was not a reserved area to drop off the boats so we walked them in from the parking on the street.nnThe lake is shallow and for non motor boats only. Easy to get in and out. But it was shallow, stunk of dead fish and full of debris and deadheads. Not anything I would want to tip over in. (There is no swimming allowed in this lake)nnThe only open restroom was by the pool at the amphitheater.nnWe saw a crane, turtles, ducks, geese, plenty of fishermen, wild rhododendrons, and other wildflowers. The current was easy to navigate around.nnPretty and easy to get around, but probably better for camping and hiking than kayaking.

We stayed at the park on Memorial Day weekend, we will not mark this park as a favorite on our list. We were at campground #1 and the park host is a grouch. She was respectful, but she is very picky and does not allow much of a good time. She told several people to turn there music down when it was not loud at all, she called the park rangers in to run people off who were having a good time and not causing any issues to others. The park is very clean, very shaded and the black top is smooth for children to enjoy bike rides. The dump station design could have been a little more remote and easily accessible but it works non the less. The park over all is beautiful and peaceful. I would try my luck on campground #2 if I needed to go back.

beautiful park!! very impressed with how well it is maintained. camp grounds and hiking are fantastic. there do need to be signs about not feeding (bread) to wildlife/ducks by the lake, though, since I saw about 6 kids and an adult throwing loaf after loaf into the water :/

I have always loved this Park and respected the man with which this park is named. Beautiful place to spend the day, to picnic, hike, boating, fishing, swimming or stay overnight in wonderful cabins by the lake or pitch a tent or bring an RV to camp a day or two. Lots of fun and memories waiting here for you and your loved ones.ud83dudc4d
