M.K. Movers

They may be okay for local moves but not a move to another state. I moved from IL to FL. 4 guys moved me out (all 4 used the clean bathrooms several times) but only 1 drove the truck. Allegedly they had FL movers they had worked with before to do the move in. The only guy working was with MK. Most of my 4 year old furniture was marred and in some cases broken - it now looks like it was purchased from Goodwill and not Crate & Barrel. Someone stole my outdoor aluminum ladder and a tote marked that it contained kitchen items (Saran wrap, foil, storage bags, glove, Mr. Clean erasers, etc.). My treadmill works but the track is loose. The guy with MK told me he had to leave and hurried everything along. I could go on and on but you get the gist. In the end, I hired a local mover to finish the job as many boxes (heavy) never made inside the house. I urge you not to make the mistake that I made.

We recently used MK movers for a "complicated" move. Downsizing from a very large home into temporary housing until our new place will be ready in a few months. We had items going 4 different places! Furniture to two of our kids homes, nearby, then the majority of our stuff going into storage and the rest to our temporary housing. It made my head spin! We had 5 guys with two trucks, and they managed to get everything to the right place in perfect condition. I did make lists and tried to label, but it was still complicated! All the guys were professional, efficient and friendly. . I would highly recommend MK for anyone who needs a mover.

Not even sure where to start. From initial contact it was an absolutely delightful experience. Communication was excellent. The attention to detail was top notch. The crew on moving day was attentive, careful, polite, and quite frankly fun. I cannot say enough about this locally owned business. If you are looking to move it is a mistake NOT to us this company. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

MK came to our house to provide us with an on-site moving estimate for a local move but then they never followed up with a quote even after I called and talked to them multiple times letting them know that I’m still waiting to receive the quote. If they can be so unprofessional and unresponsive prior to a move, you can only imagine how unprofessional and unresponsive they would be after a move in case you need to talk to them if there are any issues. We are so glad we went with a different moving company because our move went flawless. I would never recommend MK Movers to anybody else. (***Update: MK’s response below is not accurate, Mitch the owner came to our house on 10/16/20 in Elgin to do an on-site inventory, he said he would follow up with a written quote the next day, I then called and spoke to Ashley in their office multiple times letting her know I was still waiting for a quote, despite that, they never sent me a quote so I went with a different moving company and it worked out great).

We had such a great experience moving with m. K. Movers. When my wife and I moved from Illinois to Wisconsin they helped us with the move to a storage unit and then a month later when we closed on our house with the move to our new house. Both occasions the crew showed up promptly and prepared to disassemble and reassemble furniture. They were helpful and courteous and cleaned up everything at the end. I don't know when we'll move again but if we do I'm definitely calling these guys again.
