The metrological center for Tamilnadu state. Weather predictions are being done here and updated to medias for public. Earlier there were no right informations from here. Now the system has been upgraded a lot and they could give much valuable predictions of weather. Located in the heart of the city.

Good place at the heart of the city. The are different division of meteorological research. Also the guest house inside the campus is good. The food in the canteen is tasty and the price is reasonable.

Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai India Meteorological Department (IMD) is the National Meteorological Service and the Principal Government Agency in specifically established relating to Meteorology. The RMC, Chennai was established in 1875, IMD is one of the oldest premier scientific institutions of India. The RMC, Chennai functions directly under Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt of India. The RMC, Chennai centre is one of the six regional centres of IMD.
