South Campus was established in 2008 as the first satellite campus of the University of Kashmir at Fatehgarh, Anantnag in a breathtaking landscape, overlooking beautiful mountain range and serene valley.nKeeping the doors open for all, South Campus came into existence largely for the purpose of making higher education more accessible to students belonging to South Kashmir. Over the years this Campus has become a preferred destination of students belonging to various parts of the Jammu and Kashmir, for Post Graduate degree programmes being offered in the disciplines of Business Administration, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, English, Education, M.Ed and Urdu.nWhile at South Campus, we are proud of our young and dynamic faculty, it is also a delight to see a strong cadre of our alumni work in Government as well as Corporate Sector, or continuing their education at leading institutions in India and abroad.nAlthough over the years South Campus has grown sizeably in terms of the available infrastructure, we hope to improve existing academic facilities and create student amenities including hostel facilities and sports infrastructure and fitness clubs etc.nnWe will strive towards minimizing our carbon footprint and if possible become carbon neutral campus over the year to come.nnIn tune with the “Vision-2025” set by the founders of this Campus which stipulates to transform it into a full-fledged University with a major focus on job oriented and professional courses, it would be our endeavor to introduce various paramedical and techno-preneurship courses in the near future so as to cater to the needs of the society and industry and boost socio-economic prosperity.nAt the University of Kashmir we continuously update our courses and syllabi, keeping in view the changing needs of different professions, industries and social landscape as such. We look forward to strengthen campus placements and encourage collaborative engagement with higher education/research institutions from around the world through student exchange mobility, academic, and research partnerships.
