Darul Huda was established in 1986 as an Islamic college, with the name Darul Huda Islamic Academy. Currently, it has affiliated institutes all across Kerala and other states in India including  Maharashtra,  Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal,  Karnataka and  Assam.Besides the Malayalam speaking students of Kerala, it also serves Urdu speaking students of north India.According to the Peninsula Qatar, the university has produced hundreds of proficient Islamic scholars aims at empowering the community with scholars versed in Islamic knowledge and modern sciences.The university's contribution in the empowerment of Muslim community is also well recognized.
