We are basically from Palakkad based family now settled in Tamilnadu because of don't no Malayalam and speak Tamil it's doesn't mean we are don't have any attachments with this temple.nOur tharavadu temple this temple only we have family temple also near by only.nEven though some of the time management peoples there treat us make it feel very bad they are shown some partiality toonEven our relatives also worked over there.nBut we used to come yearly 2 time atleast once mostly for darshana.nManagement need to give respect for the devotees it's my request.nBecause we used to come for 12 to 14 hrs travel very long distance but they treat us like feel badly even with rote of our own states temple.nIt's our family main god Bhagavathi onlynEven I am feeling bad give very low rate for our family temple because last time our visit 1 person treat us like very badly that's why

Goddess Karnaki left Madurai came to Parasurama Kshethra (present Kerala) along with her companions Kannadath and Kannangottu Pullottayyan. She travelled across Parasumaramakshethra and settled down at Melamuri. She gave darshan to King Shekharivarma and he has the one built “Nadappathimannam Kshethram” .nDuring Tippus Malabar invasion, he destroyed many places in Palakkad including this “Nadappathimannam Kshethram”. Devotees recovered the divine “Peetam” and kept it at “Tharavath Tharavadu” in Vadakkanthara. Later, they installed (Ashtabandha Prathishta), the sanctum sanctorum below “Atthy Tree” near to Vadakkanthara Sree Ramapuram Vishnu Temple.nHere, at the bottom of Atthy tree exposed to the natures variables, weather conditions, Goddess Bhagavathy exists pouring blessings to her beloved devotees. In ancient days, devotees conducted “Paana” at Pirayiri, “Koothu” at Melamuri and “ValiyaVilaku Vela” at Vadakkanthara during alternate years. Unfortunately, all these festivals faded out except Vadakkanthara ‘Valiyavilaku Vela” conducting now in a very gracious mode once in three years. The chaithanya swaroopa of Lord Parashakthi, Vadakkanthara Shree Thirupurackal Bhagavthy persists giving blessings and prosperity to all her devotees through out the year.

Valiya Vilakku Vela, popularly known as Vadakkanthara Vela, is a festival celebrated once in three years at Sree Kachanam Kulam Thirupuraikkal Bhagavathy Temple at Vadakkanthara, Palakkad. Last festival was held on March 2018 and the next will be on February - March 2021.nnDuring Vela festival ‘Kariveshams' (people painted themselves in greasy black) will be visiting the houses in the region for making the ritualistic announcement of the arrival of the ‘Vela'. Traditional ritualistic festivals like Kathirvela, Variezuthu, Paalamaram Murikkal, Kummati, and Kanniyar will be performed in the temple.nnOn the final day of the festival is the Kazchashiveli or the procession. For this as many as 15 caparisoned elephants will be there.
