Amazing Architecture. The grandeur display of craftsmanship 1000 years back. The temple celebrate the power feminine and proves that India was an open society with more than equal share of power to the fairer gender in day to day lives

This is the First Temple situated in the Western Group of Temples, World Heritage Site Khajuraho. Three Temples lie in the vicinity of the area. Laxmi, Varaha and The Laxman Temple. Laxman Temple being thr biggest of the 3. The temple is dedicated to the Vaikuntha Avatar of Lord Vishnu. The Temple stands on highest platform out of three. The Linten depicts Goddess Laxmi centrally by Lord Brahma and Shiva. The Garbha Gruha/ Sanctum has Vaikuntham. The Boundary are Sculptured with Divine Figures.

Most Khajuraho temples were built between 950 AD and 1050 AD by the Chandela dynasty.Historical records note that the Khajuraho temple site had 85 temples by the 12th century, spread over 20 square kilometers. Of these, only about 25 temples have survived, spread over six square kilometers.2 Of the surviving temples, the Kandariya Mahadeva Temple is decorated with a profusion of sculptures with intricate details, symbolism and expressiveness of ancient Indian art.
