Reality about the post office .nnThis Uppal Post office starts late and closes early at 2:00 PM .nnVery short period of working hours.nnThe whole management must start thinking for better utilization of resources and Man power in better ways to serve people's in better way.nnI personally feel, timing must be managed because of many reasons.

Worst experience. Pathetic service. Never ever visit it. Staff is rude. They don't give proper answer to senior citizens too

I received a parcel from NZ as a gift and the postman called me to say, please come and pay ~7000 Rs (42% of Customs duty on contents worth 16k). They showed a receipt on a paper with no Customs letterhead, no phone#, no way of verifying if the amount is correct. As far I checked, gifts are exempt from duty. The clerks don't know the rules and regulations of customs. I tried speaking to the Post Master and he had no time to address my grievance and explaining me why I had to pay that amount. I verified it with NZ post, had a copy of receipt but it wasn't of no use. End of the day - I requested the parcel to be returned to NZ because I felt it makes no sense to me to pay extra 7K when my friend has already paid the postage charges of NZD100. I'm primarily upset with the way, they treated this situation, they didn't have time to answer, they didn't have enough information, they didn't help to get to the right ppl who can possibly provide a correct rationale.
