The Yoga Narasimha Temple at Melukot in Karnataka stands atop a hill at an altitude of 1777 meters above sea level. The temple was constructed during the reign of the Hoysala dynasty. The Narasimha idol is believed to have been installed by Prahlada, the son of Hiranyakashapu himself. With Yogapatta in a seated position with Lord Narasimha in the majestic temple. It is considered one of the 7 holy centers dedicated to the worship of Narasimha. Every year there is special worship in the temple to celebrate Narasimha Jayanti. There are about 300 steps that lead to the temple situated on the hill. The temple boasts of an impressive architecture with the overall structure of the temple with intricate carvings on the pillars with an impressive architecture that provides a glimpse into the architectural style of the bygone era.
