Sri Lakshmi Venkataravanaswamy temple in Ronur is an ancient temple dates back to Mahabharata. Here's a brief history of this temple. Ronur is a Hobli place located in Srinivasapura Taluk of Kolar district. There is a big and beautiful Sri Lakshmi Venkataramana Swamy Temple, constructed hundreds of years ago. The Sthala Purana says that Lord Lakshmi Venkataramana Swamy was installed by Arjuna when they were in Aranya Vasa. The Raja Gopuram was constructed more than 100 years ago by Gollapalli Kesarla Ramaiah Setty's family( lives in Bangarpet, Kolar district).Till today Kesarla family's grand children and great grand children are taking care of the temple. Their family is highly dedicated to Lord Sri Vankataramana. Sri Rajagopala Bhattar,s family is heridity Archaka, Agamika's of the temple, serving god for last 13 generations. Sri Ronur Murali Bhattar(son of Sri Rajagopla Bhattar) is a Chief priest at Hindu Temple of Minnesota USA. Every day poojas are performed. In Chaitra masa, a Bramhotsava takes place. Thousands of people witness the Rathothsva. Ronur is famous for Mango,s. S Rajendran chief justice of India belongs to Ronur.
