#Dashbhuja_Madanmadotkat_Ganapati_of_Nashik_City_400_years agonnNashik is famous as a temple city. There are many well-known temples not only in the city but also in the district. Although some ancient temples are not very popular, their antiquity adds to the richness of those temples.nThe 400-year-old Madanmadotkat Ganesha temple at Hingane Wada near Naam Darwaza on the banks of Godavari river in old Nashik is an ancient proven site.nIn the worship section of Ganesha Purana, this Madan Madotkat Ganesha is described. Devotees believe that Madan Madotkat, who has a very happy form, is the God of Navsa.nHingane was the Peshwa's Upadhyaya i.e. Purohit. In the dream of Hingne, the Peshwa's Upadhyaya, Ganpati Bappani ordered me to install my life in his house to protect him from foreign invasions in the 16th century. In this way the form of the idol is still there today.nAccording to Madhavrao Peshwa, this idol was installed in the palace of Upadhyaya Vishnupant Hingane in Nashik 250 years ago. A stone tomb has been constructed for the installation of Madan Madotkat Ganesha. An ancient inscription mentioning this idol can be seen on the wall of Hingne Castle. The letters engraved on it bear witness to antiquity.nOnce Lord Shankara was sitting on Mount Kailash doing penance when Madan broke his penance. Lord Shankara became angry and opened the third eye and burnt Madana. Rati, Madana's wife, begged Lord Shiva to curse her. Accordingly, Rati fasted for 21 Chaturthi. Strictly worshiped Shri Ganesha. At the time of celebration of Chaturthi, Rati tied Modak and worshiped. Then Lord Shiva gave an interview. And there are legends and references that this Ganapati got the name Madanmadotkat as Swayambhu Shri Ganapati appeared through this Modak. Today, these Modak-shaped stones are found near Modak Madan Madotkat Ganpati.nDue to the continuous vermicomposting, a vermicelli shell was formed on Ganapati and the original form was covered. On April 30, 2006, on the third day of Akshay, the Hingane family, who looked after the arrangements in the temple and performed daily poojas, removed the fallen papudras of the Shendari layer and the original ten-armed Ganesha was revealed. (Appearance in photo)nAfter removing the layer of shendra, it turned out to be a 4.5 feet high, very handsome face, ten arms, and the appearance of a seated idol like a radiant child.nThis idol of Ganesha is in the form of a child. The legs appear to be down and the hands are placed on the hips. The idol is very bright and it is said that there was a radiant diamond in the idol's bembi. This Madan Madotkat Ganesh belongs to the left sonde. This idol has ten arms, ten arms in which arms are in eight hands and the left hand is near the heart, Bappa is blessing with the right hand. There is a snake on Ganaraya's stomach. In the temple, two such ancient brass samais are seen near Ganesha.nUntil recently, modak-shaped stones were found in the Hingane castle. Devotees take it home with devotion as a prasad of Ganaray and keep it in the temple. Madan Madotkat Ganpati is the deity of the Hingane family. There is a tradition of applying vermiculite to the idol. Madan Madotkat Ganpati is also known as Hingne's Ganpati as it is in Hingne's castle.nValuable support: - Deepak Hingane and familynTo visit Madan Madotkat GanpatinOn the banks of the river Godavari, you can reach Hingane Wadya from near Rokdoba Maruti or from the back alley of Modkeshwar Ganapati Temple.
