Pattabhirama temple is located in Kamalapura, 5 km south of Hampi bazaar, Karnataka. Built in 1540 CE during the reign of king Achutaraya, this is one of the largest and most beautiful temples in Hampi. The temple is known for its intricate architecture. The Maha mantapa overlooking the courtyard is grand with 64 tall, highly ornamented pillars. The Antarala in front of Garbhagriha is large and replete with highly ornate pillars with intricate designs. The Kalyana Mantapa (marriage hall) is prominent and large. Pillared mantapas existed all along the outer wall, remnants of which are still visible. What an expansive temple! What an exquisite structure! And what precise execution! Wow! The temple is situated bit far from Hanoi at Kamalpura, the restoration work is in progress at the temple. It's a big temple complex without any statue inside.
