This is a very sacred place of Hojai. The Lord Shiva Temple is situated at Shiv bari Road. The structure of this temple is huge. Earlier the temple was in a small building but the present one is big. This temple was built by the donation of the people of Hojai. Many peoples contributed money and materials to this temple. In Hindu religion and devotion the Lord Shiva is worshipped in every corner of India and number of temples of Lord Shiva is the highest amongst all temples across India. Hindus worship Lord Shiva in two forms, one is in stone form as symbol and other one is in Idol form. The Lord has two most common name also, one is Mahadeva and other is Shiva. Mahadeva means Lord of all Lords and Shiva means one who is an innocent, liberal, honest, saint, monk, free from all bondage, a true lover of nature and mankind. The Lord Shiva is worshipped everyday, but Monday is known in India as Nectar Day, which is the main parts of worship and considered as an auspicious day of devotion in the Lord Shiva's Temple. Hojai Shiva temple is just half kilometre away from the railway station. The place is a worth visiting.
