Trenitalia does a great job at a resonable cost. Clean, safe and the ticket agents speak at least some English. Wait to go the bathroom on the train or pay at the terminal. The Mini Metro will take you to the station. No need for a cab if you use the Metro. Remember to validate your ticket at the yellow machine before you get on. Figuring out the train schedule on line is difficult. It is just easier to ask at the station. The site Rome to Rio is often wrong.

Perugia is a beautiful city, but more to visit than to live in. Honestly, I am of the opinion that it has many defects, one of these I believe is precisely the Perugians themselves. The village itself is wonderful, many alleys, many places to discover, so much history and breathtaking viewpoints. Unfortunately cold (or more generally strong temperature range) and wind are the order of the day most of the year. The strong point of the Umbrian capital is its position which gives the opportunity to quickly visit many villages in the wonderful surroundings as well as the beautiful Lake Trasimeno. A major critical point is the railway and motorway connection, I think it is inadmissible that such an important city is so difficult to reach. Last advice, do not stay overnight near Fontivegge, do yourself this favor.
