Wonderful hidden gem I know chef Sforza for a couple of years, but only recently I could taste his cuisine. Yesterday, my partner and I visited him at “Mexico Lindo”, a small and cozy restaurant, a hidden gem placed in the mountains above Montelepre. Driving through a small gate you reach the parking lot and within a few steps there’s the restaurant: just a few tables in a wonderful setting, recalling all things Mexican. The music is also perfect and on a big flat screen the chef shares his photos from his trips to South America (Mexico and Guatemala) and the US. The atmosphere is wonderful. You feel like visiting an old friend, one that’s very good in the kitchen. Reservations are mandatory because of the limited space, but chef Sforza speaks excellent English so no worries if you don’t speak Italian. The food is amazing and you can pair it with nice wines, good beers and of course some typical Mexican drinks such as margaritas. We loved every single dish, all the culinary little wonders, the delicate spiced sauces mixed with art and complimenting the nachos. It was the first time I had the pleasure to taste Mexican food and can’t wait to go back for more.

Second time for me from Mexico Lindo. Evening spent with friends, with spicy food suitable for all tastes. Tasty and imaginative dishes. Soft music, fresh air, excellent cocktails and a lot of professionalism. Recommended for a relaxing evening full of flavors.

We have been going to this place since it was called Mexico Lindo, this will be at least the eighth time we go, Flaviano Scorza welcomes you in his house decorated in Mexican style, the margarita takes effect in a few minutes, the atmosphere is pleasant, he prefers have few guests at a time and it is mandatory to book a few days in advance, he is a very attentive chef, he always remembers that we prefer meat to fish and that some of us are intolerant to dairy products, if we forget to say it he promptly asks. If you are looking for TexMex-style Mexican cuisine where everything is spicy and without flavor, you are in the wrong place, here you can eat traditional Mexican dishes, guacamole and sauces made with organic chilli, the best dish I remember is a mixture of meat cooked in a wrapped in banana leaves, the wrapper is opened at the table releasing a fantastic scent, the tacos and burritos are very good and each dish the chef explains what it is and how Mexicans use to eat it, the last time we ate a fig with a goat cheese on top with a very particular taste and a shank, if you are looking for fried chicken misfits with barbecue sauce on it you are in the wrong place, I recommend you book by phone a few days in advance and ask the chef in order to avoid any of your prefect in case.

Removing the fact that it is located in a not very strategic point, in a mountain area quite distant from the surrounding villages. We got there but the place was completely dark, we struggled to find it only to find it closed. We had called the second number found on TripAdvisor, since the one on google is always off, we booked only to discover that the number was a mexico lindo from Arezzo. Sin. In response to the owner: the fact that it was not a normal restaurant we understood and also the fact that you had to book. On Google it is not clear how to book and the fact that the restaurant is currently not open. You can't even find the email she says she should contact. It is not a problem cmq. I wrote sin because I have heard a lot about her and her restaurant and being a lover of Mexican cuisine I was disappointed to find it closed. I hope to be able to try his cuisine, maybe through the information he can let us know when he is in Italy and the "restaurant" will be in operation. I will certainly be among the first to book. Thank you!
