Petrarch lived until the age of 7 in Incisa-Valdarno and thus remembers those happy years in the Canzoniere ... "Here not palaces, theaters or loggias ... but in their place a fir, a beech, a pine" Ah, if he could return today ... he would not stand up to such a mess of disorder, decay and exasperated overbuilding that envelops the valley.
