Very nice village, definitely worth a stop.

It is located at 521 m s.l.m. on the left bank of the Reno river. The right bank of the river is in Tuscany and is connected to the town by a bridge through which one arrives at Lagacci, a hamlet of Sambuca Pistoiese. Here are still the buildings of the ancient customs of the Papal States and of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany. The town of Biagioni has the characteristic of being located in the southernmost point of Emilia and on 4 July 1944 it was the center of a Nazi-fascist massacre, carried out by Italian and German SS against 9 civilians. The tragic fact, long untold, emerged following the research of Alessandro Borri.
