bigger better and no crowds compared to portofinio, spent the day there and a hike up the hill to the south of town with great views, perfect day trip from Genoa cruise port

A typical Italian station, dusty and basic. Canopies don't cover full platforms.

Sestri Levante is the second most important railway station in the Ligurian east always open and well equipped for public service a few km from the city center and a crucial hub for those arriving from both Rome and Florence and for those arriving from Milan or Turin all stop here long-distance trains plus Intercity and freccia bianca and all regional trains from western Liguria. its city center remains approximately 1 km and a half starting from the area of the hotels, pizzerias and cinemas and then continuing towards the town center where the two promenades that cut this wonderful town in two parts, forming almost two separate islands, the left side crossed by hotels, restaurants, and trattorias takes us to the beach of the bay of silence, a wonderful stretch of sea with very fine yellow sand. with a splendid view of a blue sea with the beautiful monastery on the right side of the hill instead of returning to the right bank of the village the other promenade and in its path other hotels shops for all tastes trattorias pizzerias and a walk on the sea surrounded by greenery very appreciable here we find another beach with very low coast in full autumn of very dense fog that rising slowly from the sea lowers itself on the town until it totally covers it a very particular phenomenon that occurs only in this town. Instead in summer this stretch is beaten by the scorching sun the exact opposite.

After Savona, we landed in Sestri levante, because the chosen destination, La Spezia, seemed too far from the sea. The great thing about traveling by train is that you can admire all the facets of the landscape while comfortably sitting, where possible. There are many free equipped beaches, pity only that you cannot access it with your dog, but at least you can stand up in the water, unlike other Ligurian towns. We opted for a bar in front of one of the factories, since the ones we viewed offered purely fish dishes and we prefer land dishes, in fact we ate lasagna and ravioli, and a delicious homemade ice cream. Then I ventured among the typical alleys discovering another planet. Sestri levante is worth your visit, and now I will show you with my beloved photos
