Tensing Pen Resort

It was a little bit of a trek to get here but it was so worth it. We came on different flights and some of us got delayed quite so we had to take two separate cabs and it is not cheap if you have to take two cabs. I believe it was around $100 per car which wouldn’t have been bad if it was split among the 3 people in the group. So when we arrived they gave us a welcome drink which was non alcoholic but still very cute. The whole place is incredibly picturesque, especially this wooden bridge where there is amazing lighting. The color of the water was absolutely surreal. Needless to say we took a ton of pictures and chilled in hammocks a lot as well. It’s a small resort with limited rooms so the place will never be over crowded. You won’t necessarily get the comforts of a standard western chain hotel but we didn’t come here to spend all day in the room either. There were cliff jumping places on site. It doesn’t look tall until you think about jumping haha. There was one day that had a happy hour. I can’t remember which day of the week but I’m sure if you call and ask they will tell you. The other perk of this hotel is it’s within 5 min walking distance of one of the famous jerk chicken restaurants Rick’s Cafe. The resort itself is very safe but outside I would not recommend walking alone though if you are a girl. You will get cat called a lot even if when you’re with a male.

Tensing Pen is an absolutely amazing resort! We stayed with them for 7 nights and it will certainly go down as our most memorable trip to Jamaica. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful. The views from the cliffs are incredible. The way the resort is set-up makes everything feel so private and like you have the place to yourself. It really feels like you're on your own private island. I highly recommend this resort to anyone wanting some real rest and relaxation. We will definitely be back!!

Beautiful property, friendly staff and they also have pet dogs which are very friendly.

A family escape during the pandemic. Our favorite place in Jamaica hands down. We stayed in the Longhouse for almost a week. Our kids loved jumping off the bridge and snorkeling all day. The staff are like family and so good with the kids, taking them fishing and showing them different types of animals in the ocean. The food was amazing and we pretty much had the resort to ourselves. We will be back...our boys loved the dog Tensing, who actually enjoyed taking naps on our sofa while the kids read. Home away from home. Thank you!
