I'm not big on outdoorsy activities but the Holywell Park was lovely. We rented tents, which were close to a bathroom with running water and toilet. When we went it was raining, so it was a bit slippery in some areas. When the rain and fog cleared we enjoyed some of the most beautiful views of lush vegetation and mountain side. From this vantage point there are views of the Mona Dam, Kingston Harbour and much of Kingston. There were multiple hiking trails for us to explore. The nature and fresh unpolluted air was simply unparalleled.

It's great to be on a hillside some some great friends fo talk to, Or just to let nature in. This is the ideal place, whether a day picnic or a overnight stay

The place is beautiful and relaxing. The temperature is cold so bring a sweater. The grounds can accommodate a picnic, games etc. There is a waterfall and a nature trail. The waterfall is beautiful however to get there i had to traverse muddy tracks, jump over areas of mud etc and the steps to the falls are in need of a little repair. Needless to say, bring sneakers that you arent too attached to. The nature trail isn't informative (there isn't a description of the flora and fauna) essentially its a hike through the hills. it can be dangerous at certain places so watch your step and it's also an uphill climb. But id say its a Jamaican Experience that I am proud of.

The campsite was okay, had plumbing and firewood with a nice view of the city below. If you want to go please make every attempt to pay ahead of time by going to the office in Kingston. Our flight came in late on Friday and the office was closed, they were also closed on the Saturday afterwards and we wanted to camp Sunday night into Monday. We drove to the park, met a ranger who showed us some sites and we picked 1. My husband and 2 kids, we had our own tent and 2 hammocks. The ranger told us to set up and he'll collect payment at some point since he was on the shift and would also be working the overnight. Next morning we were taking down the tent and getting ready to pay. He charged us almost $10000. We did not have that much in Jamaican dollars but he said the cost was US$15 per person and US$10 for the site. US$70 for 1 night of camping, no tent or equipment rentals just the site. The rip off is real in Jamaica. Everyone is hustling, without regard, even those who should not be. I camped in Negril on the beach at a beachfront cabins and campsite and we paid no where close to US$70.
