Idlers' Rest Beach Hotel

I had fun although the wifi was kinda down but I love being there to feel the sea breeze and to put my feet into the water.

First time been at Idlers Rest and would definitely visit again. It's so rustic and welcoming. Great place for pics. Staff very accommodating. Job well done guys.Thanks for making our honeymoon suite fantastic. The Roberts'.

For the price, this rustic style hotel was well worth the money. The biggest disappointment was the breakfasts. They were child size, & when I asked for more coffee & fresh orange, the wonderful, but nervous staff said they weren't allowed to give out any more than ee were given. The manager Sharon then came over & charged us for more orange. The orange was originally given in what can only be described as a shot glass. One gulp, & it was gone!! Out of embarrassment, every morning the staff gave us extra coffee & orange & asked us to keep it quiet. The manager Sharon has no business sense at all, & knows nothing about the little things that keep customers happy, coming back & recommending the establishment! The rooms were clean, if a little basic. We could have done with a larger fridge in the room in such a hot climate, as it was only big enough to keep 4 cola cans. Our room on the 1st floor was HUGE!! It was more like an apartment which was great. This is NOT a place to bring children, as it's so quiet & far off the beaten track. However, if peace & quiet is what you desire, I couldn't recommend anywhere better. The beach was right in front of the restaurant, & it was clean & secluded, with views of local fishermen out on the river. Because we were travelling out every day anyway, & returning after a long day of activities, Idlers proved to be a calming experience to look forward to. BUT after dark (6pm), that's it....... Silence, as opposed to mainstream hotels with entertainment etc. Idlers Rest would have got a 4 if not for the measly portions of breakfast on offer, & the money grabbing attitude of the manager Sharon. If we do return there, hopefully she'll have moved on, or attended a personality transformation class or two...

Great staff. Good food. Excellent Rooms. Very professional, they made our family's vacation really great!!!
