I visited this place for the first time, but unfortunately it was closed so I couldn't use it 😧. Therefore, I don't know what's going on inside, so I'll report it in the next post, not bad 😓.

In front of this is a historic site sign that says "Zenzo Shimizu's birthplace". Born here, he is now widely known as a pioneer in Japanese tennis. Zenzo, who was born in Nishigoya, Amagato Town, started playing tennis at the former Takasaki Junior High School and entered the tennis club at Tokyo Takasho (now Hitotsubashi University). In 1912, joined the former Mitsui & Co. upon graduation. I was assigned to the Calcutta branch, but I continued to play tennis there. In the anonymous state, he participated in the Bengal Championship and won. After that, after achieving the fifth consecutive victory in this tournament, we will finally stand on the court of Wimbledon. Here, he demonstrated the unique “Bushido spirit” of Japan and left an episode that can be told to future generations. While playing, I saw the American player Tilden fall and suddenly hit the loose ball. This was an act that could be called a samurai's mercy. The audience stood up and applauded applause for this fair play, which didn't stop long. Shimizu made the best 4 in Wimbledon and 8 in the US. After that, it was necessary to wait until 92 years later for Kei Nishikori to reach the top 8 in the United States. If you look at this thing, you can see the greatness of Shimizu (^ _ ^ ゞ
