Taito City Central Library

A nice library that has a decent but small selection of English books and English films on DVD. Due to covid there are no places to sit down and read or study to speak of. It is the only library in Tokyo I have seen that has self check-out to borrow material. There's plenty of bicycle parking and walking distance to Asakusa.

I used it a few years ago. I made a library card. I also used the reserved seating study room for studying. I will take a seat at the reception on the first floor. The first floor for reading has a rich lineup of magazine corners. There is also a self-study room without reservation (free space where conversation and meetings are ok), and there is also a small space where you can eat and eat. We recommend the nearby take-out specialty seafood bowl. The glass-walled building is beautiful with the sun shining inside.

When I registered for new use, the receptionist was very polite.

The permanent Shotaro Ikenami Bunko is worth a visit! ️
