Hiking Mt. Mikami (Omi Fuji). It is a very historic place and can be seen well from the motorway. You can easily climb the mountain in 1 hour uphill and 45 minutes downhill. There are various routes, but I climbed from the front entrance and descended from the back entrance, but there is a rocky area in the second half of the front entrance, so be careful of slipping depending on the shoes. There are many viewing points, and you can see Lake Biwa and Mt. Hiei. In addition, Mikami Shrine after descending the mountain has an interesting national treasure main shrine.

It has a long history. It's been about 1,700 years since Amano Mikage Okami (the god of swordsmiths) descended on Mt. Mikami called Omi Fuji. (It is a tradition) Anyway, it was Fujiwara no Fuhito who built the ground in the present place in the 2nd year of Yoro (718), and the current building, the main shrine (national treasure) worship hall, the tower gate, the Wakamiya shrine, etc. were maintained around the 14th century. I felt the high cultural value. Many locals were seen when I visited and worshipers. The parking lot is also spacious, so you can usually visit slowly. I want to come again.

2020/10/2 We visited the Shinto and Buddhist sacred sites. We arrived at around 8:30, but several people came out after visiting. I think it's a local, but I thought it was wonderful. The precincts have been cleaned and I visited the temple first thing in the morning.
