Shoshazan Engyo-ji temple

One of the most beautiful places I been in japan. Despite the fact about the movie the last samurai, this place in autumn is magical. Try to go non when is getting dark it worth the trip here.

It was such a nice experience to see the temple from The Last Samurai. I liked how peaceful everything was and the view of the city was amazing. The cost was very reasonable. I liked being able to get the shrine stamps for this place for my shrine stamp book.

Probably the best temples I have ever been to in Japan. Very few tourists, on top of a lovely mountain surrounded by a lush forest!

What a gem in the woods. It's a bit of a trip but pays off in spades in the giant wooden structures. The peace and calm of these woods are very alluring.

a nice trek just about 30 mins from himeji castle. there is a cable car if you want to skip the trekking. temples within the mountain. rustic feel and with a great view of the city.
