Degalldoruwa Raja Maha Viharaya

It is a historical Buddhist temple situated in the outskirts of Kandy Town. Generally, you will not find a very large crowd unlike other historic temples in Kandy. Has colourful paintings & frescoes which dates back to ancient times. It is a very calm place, which is highly suitable for meditation.

Degaldoruwa Temple is Located in a village called Amunugama in Kandy. Built in a prepared cave, the temple is considered to be an art gallery that embodied the essence of Kandyan painting.

This is an ancient Buddhist temple located within 30kms from Kandy town.The history of temple runs to Kandyan kingdom era .This is a great place to a person who study architecture and artistic aspects of ancient Kandyan Kingdom.

I didn't see any tourist there. Thanks to my host who drove me here to show me this gem. It was very very quiet, just me and my host only.
