Kandy Railway Station

One of the main railway stations and connection in Sri Lanka railways. It iis also next to the main bus stand.

The ticket counters need to be organized in a better way. Buying tickets on the same say as travelling can be a hassle because the ticket sales and the inquiries from government servants on their discounted tickets is all done at the same counters. There should be a seperate counter for tickets sold for the next immediate train and a seperate counter for pre-bookings. Also vehicles waiting for hires should not be allowed to take up all the parking space.

The whole Kandy is one of my favourite places

Has a small car park.It's clean but there are a lot of bird droppings (it can't be helped) Rooms are also available at station and they may be need to booked before date of your arrival. Two food outlets are inside the station.When taking a train, get on last and hold the railway by the door. Then you can stand in the door to see the scenery. Don't hang out, as you can fall, and this is very dangerous.

Ticket are not available even weeks before the traveling dates. Team is not responsive at all (worse than the government offices that expected) less common sense with the staff from top to bottom. SLR has to introduce e-ticket concept but with these people will not possible to go ahead with the year 2050.
