Wewassa Ella Falls

After reaching the tea estate we suddenly reminded that we forgot to get the trishaw guys mobile number, so we decide to take the route towards Spring Valley and have a dip at Black Pool but the locals discouraged us saying the route is not clear and we will face transport problems when we reach Spring Valley. After drinking an icy cold Kurumba we started our painful walk along the tea estate roads. After about 7Km’s we came to the tea factory where we got in to a trishaw and asked the driver to take us to 5th mile post waterfall (Wewassa falls) where we can have a cool bath but to disappoint us no one was given permission to get even close to this waterfall since it was the main drinking source of the 3rd mile post colony and the Uva-Wellassa university. So after having some hot Pol roti we took a Badulla – Moneragala bus to end our journey at Moneragala.

You can view this from the Badulla - Passara road. You can’t go closer to the waterfall since the water from this resource is used by villagers. But of course the beauty from the bridge looks amazing. There is a tea shop near this waterfall, you can have a Ceylon tea while looking at this beauty.

The place has a twin waterfall with different origins.there are few twin waterfalls like this in sri lanka like puna falls ramboda.this is a small waterfall yet a beautiful one in rainy seasons.since its so near to the road you can just have a rest while on a trip.that road has few small waterfalls you can see but most of them are seasonal.enjoy.

This attractive waterfall situated in Badulla- Passara(A5) highway 5th mail post nealy road left side. There are most beautiful few small falls. Most beautiful with rainy days. 15 miniuts by bus from Badulla city.
