Clock Tower is one of the best attractions of Galle Dutch Fort. It is about 3-4 stories tall, thus becomes one of the iconic views of Galle city. Time on the Clock tower is denoted in Roman numerals. The base of the clock tower provides a panoramic view of the Galle City. It is another good spot within the Dutch Fort to enjoy the sunset.

This is an attractive clock tower relatively easy to find at the top of a stone ramp on the fortifications in the South-West corner of Galle fort. It was built in the 19th cover the remains of a guard room. The clock tower is dedicated to a former colonial surgeon. It is four stories high, piercing into the sky to over 25m/83'. Its height makes it a good rendezvous point.From here you get good views both out to sea and inland across the famous Galle cricket ground. Also, you'll find some interesting statues at the base of the clock tower that I believe relate to the era of the Dutch military rule. Worth a look.
