One of the iconic place in Galle town. Located in the ancient Dutch fort surrounded by the coconut trees. It's built in the 1938 and still functioning. Great place for photo backgrounds. Specially in the evening. There is an alley at a side of the lighthouse to access the beach which you can take a bath easily. When bathing in there be careful about small rocks. They are very where under the water. The sea in this area is very calm and nice.

There's construction work going around the place. But can click some great snaps in the dawn and dusk

Perhaps the most photogenic place in Galle. Combination of a lighthouse, fortifications and Indian Ocean is amazing.

Surrounded by beautiful palm trees and a postcard-perfect location. What is that one thing I can do in Galle if I got less time? The answer is Visit Galle Fort- Lighthouse. This beautiful white lighthouse dates back to 1848 and has a rich history which you can read about if interested. It stands on the walls of the ancient Galle Fort, guiding the safe passage of ships into Galle Harbor. This is where you will get your perfect Sri Lanka photo. The beach surrounding this light house is pretty decent, has a lot of rocks inside the waster so one must be careful. You will also find some good local vendors around selling beautiful handicrafts at great prices. We could not go up the light house or see it form the inside, however, it's outside beauty will satisfy the tourist inside you. Tip: Walk by the complete perimeter of the fort for a perfect angle to your pictures when approaching the lighthouse.
