One of the Famous Pagoda in Myanmar with a record of being the highest Pagoda in Myanmar. If you are in Bago , Shwe Maw Daw Pagoda must be in your check list, too !

This pagoda was built by Mon King and Its history said over 1000 years long. In 1930, this pagoda was destroied by a strong earthquake, and only left botton of the pagoda. In 1952, it was rebuilt. You can see and observe the upper part of the origin of pagoda. Whatever., It is one of the famous tourist attractions in Myanmar.

The most beautiful Pagoda complex in Burma! Gives one an insight in to Buddhism its teachings, way of living of the monks. Peaceful and serene environment some entrances have fees while others are free. One can plan a visit accordingly over all a nice place to visit with family winters is a better time since summers are muggy!!

BECAREFUL not all entrance has entrance fee. If you are not planning on visiting all of the cultural sites, then my suggestion is to survey all the 4 entrances of the pagoda and then choose the one without ticket booth 90% of the money from the entrance ticket goes into their own pocket, the gov collects only the rest of it. I love the pagodas, they are amazing, but I dislike how they are using their religious place as a way to shred money off visitors.
