Pet friendly! First reason we stayed there. But totally worth it even with no dog ;) We booked calling them, Carmen was very helpful from the booking until the end of our stay. She arranged us a day spa, made sure we had a spacious room for us and our dog. The restaurant La Doña in the same building is a must: veeeery tasty plates, helpful waiters, they even got us bones to our dog ;) Located in the very city center we had no need to take the car and had nice walks around the hotel and to best spots of San Miguel. Their terrace is the place to take nice sunset pics.
A beautiful place to come a relax. Hotel Nena is walking distance to all of the hot spots. Carmen and all of the Nena's staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and overall very professional. I would absolutely recommend stay here if you are looking for a memorable stay in San Miguel de Allende.
I didn't actually stay at Nena, so this might not be the most helpful review, but I wandered in in the evening while looking for a hotel for that night, last-minute. The staff at the front desk told me that unfortunately they were full that night and before I could even turn to leave, they had picked up the phone to check with a nearby hotel for me... and got me a discount.
I was extremely impressed by that level of service! I would definitely try to stay here in the future.
San Miguel is full of small boutique hotels and I had a really hard time choosing one. But after our three day getaway at the hotel Nena I was so thankful that we chose this one. The hotel is centrally located just a few blocks from the main square. It’s a beautiful intimate boutique setting with a tranquil Courtyard, Pool, wonderful restaurant called La Donna, rooftop bar and sunset viewing area. There’s contemporary and neat artwork scattered throughout the grounds. I suspect it changes regularly as it changed once while we were there. The whole town is full of great art so it’s no surprise.
The rooms are super luxurious and comfortable. Robes, slippers, comfy beds, modern new bathrooms with upscale toiletries, big tvs and cabal tv access- everything you could want to feel at home!
If you are a light sleeper, make sure you don’t get a room located in the courtyard. You will hear noise from the restaurant and people talking and dining up until about 11:30 PM. It didn’t bother us at all but I could see how if you’re a light sleeper it would be a problem. Just request rooms in the back of the hotel and away from the courtyard.
Shout out to Carmen who made our stay extra special. She made us feel welcome before we even arrived and was super helpful with directions and recommendations throughout the town.
The breakfast here is superb. It started with a beautiful fruit bowl with all fresh fruits. Then you have an option to order off the menu of seven or eight different full breakfasts.
We really enjoyed this charming town, this wonderful hotel and great staff! Would definitely stay here again on our next trip. Book it now and you won’t be sorry!
Stumbled upon this hotel last minute and it was such a nice surprise! The hospitality, the cleanliness, the decor, and the views were all amazing! The bed was super comfortable and we got to enjoy the sky lounge some as well. The pool was an added bonus. We wish we could have stayed here more than just one night!
