Cañón de La Murcielaguera

It starts at the top of the mountain (if you want to travel with a canyon progression technique) otherwise it can be accessed from below. You take a path that leads to the place that gives the canyon its name. The site is majestic, with its imposing walls that exceed 50 meters in height. Its origin is basalt and it is also intermittent, that is, not all year long it carries water and in dry times we observe pools with stagnant water, although in its lower part a source of crystalline water is seen.

The path to the canyon is just in front of the abandoned normal. The canyon is part of a river bed that passes through Perote. The walls are very high and there is a place where you have to climb some rocks with a rope to continue the path. The journey is not very long but it is very attractive and impressive.
