Museo de la Ciudad de México

An interesting museum housing a small collection. The curators seem to have a love for the city that is expressed with a sense of humor. My favorite gallery had photos of city residents and told their stories.

Excellent architecture

It is located in the old Palace of the Counts of Santiago de Calimaya. It is one of the most remarkable places of the baroque architecture of the 18th century, work of the architect Francisco Guerrero y Torres. The Museum of the City of Mexico, opened its doors on October 31, 1964 and today offers services such as: temporary exhibitions that show the work of plastic artists who express, through their colors and techniques, the multiple ways of looking and feeling Mexico City; the Museum of Clausell site and studio, where you can permanently visit recreations of some rooms of the Counts of Calimaya such as the chapel, the sacristy and the music room and the studio of Joaquín Clausell; and the Jaime Torres Bodet library. Those attending this site can also enjoy guided tours, workshops, lectures, book presentations, concerts and other artistic and cultural activities.

To be the museum of Mexico City, many things are missing, the building very well.
