Zazil Retreat is probably the best hotel in the Mazunte / San Agustinillo area! The Bungalows (we had the Gecko Suite) are beautifully furnished and offer plenty of space. The separate WC and shower also. We also appreciated that the beach towels are also provided. But the absolute highlight is the terrace! The view you can enjoy from the hammock is absolutely spectacular! We never had such a panoramic sea view before! The silence is also beautiful. You can hear nothing but the sound of the sea in the distance and the birdsong in the morning. The breakfast is excellent and is served very generously. The service staff is friendly and very helpful. Also from the infinity pool you have a wonderful view over the surrounding nature and the bays of San Agustinillo. Once we could even spot a whale as it exhaled through its blowhole! For all Yoga fans, the Zazil Retreat has something very special to offer.A huge yoga studio, fully equipped with everything you need for yoga. Starting the day in this studio in the golden light of the incoming morning sun was simply perfect for us. We can recommend the Zazil Retreat 100%! If you like nature and its sounds and have a spiritual touch, you will absolutely love this hotel!

I stayed at Zazil beginning of December for 5 days. Christa, Anton and everyone who works there were wonderful hosts. They’ve been super welcoming from the start. I felt like home right away. The cabanas are tastefully furnished and nestle perfectly into the stunning nature around. I stayed at cabana Iguana which gives one a very private feel with a lovely view over trees then on to the sea and it’s infinite horizons. You’d hear the soothing sounds of the waves and a little breeze from the sea will give you a constant welcoming chill. For breakfast, it’s all about fresh fruits, handmade jams, even home-made yoghurt, a crispy everyday fresh bread and many other yummy breakfasty things. Whereever you stroll or sit, the views are simply amazing. With it’s most breathtaking one from their super spacious yoga space in which I practiced my daily Taiji routine. On this trip I wanted to be in a contemplative place with a heartily atmosphere and stunning views, still in walking distance to the ocean. Coming back home from a day at the beach, by foot, it will be a bit of a hilly climb but totally worth it. Cause it is this extraordinary location that gives Zazil the peacefulness and Zen feel. In the Mayan language Zazil means light. Casa Zazil totally lives up to the metaphoric challenges of that big word. Thanks to Christa & Anton, their Zazil is a magic place. Thanks for having me, I will be back, Richard

It turns out that you cannot make a single noise, and their great breakfast included is coffee, juice and fruit ... if you want eggs or chilaquiles it is with extra cost Zero kindness from the owner's daughter. Nice place but with bad attitudes you forget how beautiful .. by the way the water is the rooms is cold.

The richest bed in the world, the rooms are very nice, spacious, comfortable, private, clean and fresh. Delicious breakfast and very good service. The only thing that needs to be considered is the huge climb to get there. There is an urgent need for a van that you can call and get the guests on and off, many times even the taxi drivers don't want to get on it, and it becomes a problem, especially at night. If we suffered it and I even fell and scraped once going down, I cannot imagine seniors, it would be impossible for them. If that is fixed I would definitely go back and recommend it a thousand times.

I loved! Views that take your breath away, divine rooms, pool with a view. The reservation includes continental breakfast. The only bad thing is there is an extreme climb to get there, not recommended for older adults. They do not have restaurant service so you have to go down for lunch and dinner. Very hot and mosquitoes, you have to bring a lot of repellent
