The actual volcanic site was closed when I was there, due to the ranchers that did not want people crossing their lands in order to get to the actual natural reserve. The museum was open though and it was very well kept and the trails are an amazing view! I hope the gov can figure out something to benefit the landowners there so the tourist aren't just turned down.

Spectacular place and very interesting museum, the dunes are impressive. The entrance to the craters is closed but if they let pass according to federal permission to the tour, but if there is an alternate entrance about 100 meters south of the main entrance.

It's a very lonely place, sand formations, very parents, it's a wonderful place
