I didn't have much time for dinner just maybe 3 hours and no car. Rather than ubering around in Eagle Pass, I decided to go to Lubys... But... Then I said... Hell I am just minutes from Mexico, it feels sacrilegious to eat at Lubys when my beloved Mexico is looking at me. I was hesitant to come here because my cab driver recommended it. But I decided to take a chance and boy am I ever glad I did. I am from the north Dallas area so I know fine dining. In fact my family and I spend a substantial amount of money dinning out. If this place were in Dallas, it would be at Frisco or Plano, or Addison, or Turtle Creek. It would compete with DelFriscos or any fine dinning experience. Fact is that there is just no good seafood in Dallas. And this place shows that there is no good excuse for it. And no... Bass is no seafood. It is lake bottom feeder. Their specialty seems to be shrimp but the creativity with which they craft these dishes is the stuff of legends. I am sure that in that kitchen there is a real honest to goodness cheff... Or a genius cook. Either way, if you ever get the chance to come here .... By all means do it! This place should be in your bucket list. From the 5 star service to the world class food, and familiar fine ambiance, I really can't say anything bad about the place. Yea a plate was chipped... But give them a break. They don't have anywhere near close to the margins they have in Dallas. 5 stars no objections.
