Izamal is an often overlooked but hugely important Mayan city. Friendly people, beautiful place.

Free entrance to a Mayan ruin. No explanations given of what we were seeing and it had been rebuilt quite messily using concrete. Still, worth a visit if you're in Izamal.

You suffer when climbing the heat and the steps but at the top you forget, it has an incredible view of the former convent and the center, a visit not to be missed!
